In these quiet days of winter, I've been challenging myself to see the beauty of everyday things. To feel the stillness and the calm during dark days and recognize the beauty, even when I yearn for the light. To let myself simply be amongst the fog and to acknowledge its beauty.Read More
If soulmates exist, Allison and Levi are the living, breathing model of them.
From the very beginning of their story, it seems as if the universe was actively working, everyday, to bring them together. They grew up in the same town, their families knew each other, and they went to the same schools. They finally connected during middle school, and again in high school, and have been together ever since.
Their wedding day mimicked their love story, full of intention and intimacy. They infused meaning into every single detail of their day. Allison and her closest friends got ready in the home she grew up in; they said "I do" in their small town church in Westfield; they left their ceremony on a family friend's antique firetruck, and we shot their portraits against the backdrop of her neighbor's soybean field.Read More
If there is one word I could use to describe Lindsey and Brandon, it would be happy.
But not just in the normal use of the word. They radiate pure happiness. The type of happiness where you can't help but smile being around them. I knew when meeting Lindsey and Brandon that their wedding would be a special one, but I never would have been able to predict just how beautifully intimate and joyful their wedding would be. These two souls are so special, both so incredibly kind. They promised forever at sunset, standing under a majestic, old tree at Deer Park Manor in Bloomington, Indiana.
I have been dying to do an in home session, and Carly and David came along and made all my in home engagement session dreams come true! We spent some time on a dark, cloudy day inside their apartment along the downtown Indianapolis Canal, cozying up on the couch and playing with the cutest puppy on earth. Afterwards, we took a little stroll along the canal, stopping to admire all the charming little spots of this city we call home.
So thankful for these kind souls. Carly and David are having a small, intimate wedding at the Skyline Club in February, and I can't wait. Intimate wedding set my soul on fire, and I know their day surrounded by their closest friends and family will be a good one.
Friends, meet Carly and David. x
When I first met with Lauren and Joe, I immediately wanted to be best friends with them. And being an introvert, I don't say that lightly. We spent the majority of our first meeting laughing our faces off and bonding over photos of our pets. It was one of those meetings where I left feeling revitalized by the time spent in such good company, with a heart full of gratitude for what I get to do. By the end of the meeting, I knew the photos we'd create together would be magic.Read More
My favorite girls in the world, beaches, and sunsets: what more could I need?
Erika, Allie, and I decided to take a take a little road trip down to Florida this summer, and it was exactly what we needed. We had plenty to celebrate--Erika and I's college graduation, Erika's move to Japan (for a year or two!), and Allie's survival of another year of college.Read More
Oh, these sweet souls.
Their engagement session took us to Downtown Franklin, Indiana, and not just because of the cute buildings and the quaint, little neighborhood park, but Brandon also proposed in Franklin!Read More
Only these two could make winter look this good. Alicia and Paul had their first date at the IMA, so of course we had to revisit this spot for their engagement session. We roamed the IMA and 100 acres in Indianapolis, and despite the typical Midwest winter weather, we lucked out with some beautiful hints of sun throughout the evening. I love this session. Love these two beautiful people. Love how fun and easy and pure their love is.
Ashley and Chase are my type of people. They are the type of people who are deeply compassionate for everyone they come in contact with. They aren't afraid to stand up for what's right and completely, wholeheartedly follow their passions. They live full of meaning and intention. Before their engagement session, we ate and laughed and talked about everything from wedding plans to school to future hopes and dreams and the environment. As an INFJ, I'm always wishing I could skip the small talk and get down to the deep, meaningful parts of a conversation. And I feel so fortunate to be a part of such a special time in Ashley and Chase's journey, sharing all the deep conversation and bonding over life's beautiful moments in between.
So cozy up with a blanket, stroll through some photos, play this lovely song (their wedding song, and also, (not joking at all) my favorite song IN THE WORLD), and remember that the world is beautiful because of all the love in it.
Ashley and Chase, thank you for trusting me during this session. Thank you for walking off the beaten path (literally), getting your shoes wet, and loving so deeply and openly.
The sweetest engagement session with the two sweetest people. Hannah and Zach's love story is ridiculously romantic; I'm sure it will end up being a hit romance novel at some point (with a movie deal to follow). I would write a little summary here, but how about you read it in Zach's own words instead?
Just as Zach writes, "sometimes a story is too sweet to let it end." Hannah and Zach, I'm so thankful to be a part of your beautiful story. <3
